Julie (which is a French version of her Russian name Yulia) was born and raised in Moscow before she left for Britain where she lived between 2003 and 2010, not leaving the country even once. During this time Los Cuadernos de Julia blog on Arts and Culture came to life in 2006, allowing Julia to share her boundless knowledge and exuberance with multitudes of people throughout the world. In 2009 the LCJ has become a Google's Blog of Note, exactly on its 3rd anniversary.
Upon returning to her home city, Julia went on to work as an independent journalist and linguist, supporting publishing houses and businesses with her excellent language skills. Although her expertise is profound, she tends to work on projects in the fields of Fashion, Design, Travel and Hospitality, Communications, and Media. She is now the editor-in-chief of a Russian online publication.
While in the UK, Julia has also acquired varied and invaluable experience in the fields of Digital Marketing and Advertising, Broadcasting, and Online PR. She fondly remembers the times at BBC, as well as a super-successful Paid Search multilingual campaign for a Danish online bank dealing in Forex.
Julia is bilingual (Russian, English), fluent in French, reads in Italian, German, and Latin. She has 5 cats and an inexplicable passion for long walks in the park.
